I am passionate about helping you achieve satisfaction, differentiation and empowerment in all of your relationships, whether you work with me as an individual or a couple. I work with couples in all stages, whether it be in my Relationship Prep Course for new couples, strengthening a couple through therapy, or helping them uncouple/divorce in a healthy way.
I have been practicing psychotherapy since 1998 and in private practice since 2007. I started my career working in community mental health centers throughout the city, the last one as Coordinator of the Behavioral Health Clinic at a New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation facility, where I worked for ten years. At some point, I realized that I had many patients who would talk to me about issues of sexuality and sexual functioning, probably because they picked up on my comfort talking about these matters, but I didn’t know how to help them. That’s what led me to begin sex therapy training to become an AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists) Certified Sex Therapist in 2007. Shortly thereafter, I decided to pursue training in couples therapy to be able to provide more comprehensive treatment.
In 2010, I completed the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy Training with Ellyn Bader of the Couples Institute. In 2018, I completed the Ackerman Family Institute Divorce Mediation Course. I completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 3 in 2022.
I enjoy the diversity of my clients and am excited to work with individuals and couples of all backgrounds regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, spirituality/religion, ability.
I received my BA in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University. I received my MA/PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University.
